The lobby now features ’60s-inspired furnishings…Rooms evoke a beach house with floral pillows and lemon-yellow walls. The chef Josiah Citrin, a Santa Monica native, has opened the more casual Tower 8 in the hotel, focusing on Southern California seasonal dishes.

The Tower 8 Restaurant is one of the best-kept secrets in the beach town, with its locally-sourced, seasonal cuisine inspired by the California lifestyle and its quintessential coast.
"Gorgeous" rooms and suites (with Frette towels, Egyptian cotton linens and high-def TVs) in a "beautiful deco building" across from the beach in Santa Monica set this "lovely, intimate" find apart; the "knowledgeable" staff, fitness center and large heated pool with poolside dining and drinks are also draws.
We fell in love with the boutique Oceana Beach Hotel the moment we stepped through its modernist doors…But our favourite feature was the service, which rivaled the Four Seasons everyone from front desk staff to wait staff were incredibly helpful and genuine a rarity in these days of hipster cool.

My colorful room featured a small deck with a flowering window box and chairs, offering a panoramic view to the sea. The delightful selection of coffee table books, the bed’s smooth linens, the blackout cloth-lined linen draperies and a handsome Waterworks-style bathroom furnished with ample towels were all perfect.
